Where did I go?

So way back in March I decided to start this little blog.  I was pretty enthusiastic and had great ideas for what it would become… I even made a special Never-ending Notebook just to plan it and keep track of my posts and ideas!  So why did I all of a sudden seem to disappear?

A few month ago, I fell down the stairs and injured my shoulder.  Ouch!  It progressively got worse to the point where I couldn’t actually use it to make my books or attend markets.  Big bummer right, but surely I could still type?  Still keep working on this blog and growing my business?  That would have been the smart thing to do, but unfortunately I have this nasty habit of dropping the ball when I’ve got a good thing going.

This habit goes all the way back to high school days and my early twenties where I became the queen of self-sabotage.  Back then I had an excuse, probably a good one I guess, I suffered from depression.  Now why would I tell you this personal detail?  Especially since I’ve been managing it great for years and I’m a fully functioning adult (well, most of the time)?  I guess it’s because it’s nothing to be ashamed about and as a society we should talk about it more.  I was really good at hiding it back then too.  None of my friends knew, not even my family.  It wasn’t till I was around 20 that I acknowledged that it was a problem and got help.

This probably seems like a completely random thing to be writing about on a blog about notebooks, but in my mind, at least I’m writing something.  So this nasty habit has crept back into my life and it’s allowed me to become lazy, not just with this blog, but with all aspects of my life.  For example, I have a half finished ‘Kmart Make-over’ in progress in my kitchen right now…. that I started at least a month ago!!  As for the shoulder, it’s much better and nearly back to full function.  So no more excuses!  Time to get back in to using these notebooks for one of the main things they’re great for… Organisation!!  Thanks for letting me share with you guys and use this post to help keep myself accountable.

Till next week… Heidi.
